Three Day Eventing Head Trainer Josh Barnacle began his riding career at the infamous European Pony School at age 8. He started competing in recognized USEA events at age 12 under the guidance of Yves Sauvignon.
At just 13 years old Josh was competing in his first preliminary which was his sixth event ever. In the year 2000 he was named Area VI junior young rider preliminary rider of the year. Josh imported long time partner Florestan Du Serin in 2002. They completed their first advanced 2004, with results including 2nd in the advanced at Galway Downs in 2004, 2nd in the advanced at High Prairie Farm 2004, 8th in the CIC***(4*S) at Rebecca Farm 2004. In 2005 they were 7th at the CIC***(4*S) at Rebecca Farm, 3rd at Twin Rivers in the advanced division. They then went on to win the last long format CCI**(3*L) which was held at Galway Downs. In 2008 Josh and Flo won the USEA Gold Cup Adequan Advanced division at Woodside. Later that year they finished in the top half of a large field of top horses and riders at the Fair Hill International CCI***(4*L) held in Maryland. Josh has successfully competed several other horses to the upper levels of eventing while also producing many talented young horses in eventing, dressage, and hunter/jumpers. Josh has worked with internationally renowned riders and trainers such as Yves Sauvignon, Brian Sabo, Kim Severson, Jim Wofford, Lesley Law, Phillip Dutton, Boyd Martin, Lilo Fore and Sue Curry. Primarily a three day eventing barn, we also compete in dressage and jumper shows. We have started and produced many young sport horses. We offer lessons, training and competition programs, as well as starting and selling horses.
